JOB SUMMARY
The Loan Review Analyst maintains independence while gathering and analyzing credit information on existing borrowers. They perform reviews of bank loans to assess the level of risk in the credits, identify weaknesses in credit relationships, suggest workout alternatives for problem credits and assess compliance with all Bank policies and procedures along with all applicable state and federal banking regulations. They also complete special projects at the request of the Loan Review Manager or the Audit Committee.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
- Reviews mid-size to large loans of moderate to high complexity.
- Ensures the accuracy of risk grades assigned by lender and reviews quality of credit underwriting.
- Analyzes the financial condition of the borrower and reviews payment history of credit.
- Identifies deviations from loan policy guidelines.
- Confirms proper documentation obtained and ensures compliance with relevant banking laws and regulations.
- Confirms borrowers’ compliance with loan covenant.
- Requests additional information as needed; and discusses findings with lending officer and senior lending management, as needed.
- Completes review audits on various areas of lending including specific loan types, OREO, special assets, allowance for loan and lease losses (ALLL) and other lending areas.
- Completes and reports quarterly to senior, management and other personnel on various areas, including grade changes, underwriting trends and other credit risk trends.
- Develops and maintains information on financial industry, the economy, market conditions, rates, competition, and law, regulations and regulatory requirements.
- Assist other individuals in the loan review department with processes, projects, or other tasks.
- Assists Loan Review Manager in writing and completing quarterly Loan Review reports to Audit Committee.
- Assists Loan Review Manager in projects as assigned, including supplying requested information to regulatory and other outside firms as needed.
- Assists in providing loan account ratings for loan officers.
- Provides leadership in absence of loan review manager.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree (BA) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; Finance or Accounting preferred.
- 5 years minimum of banking experience required.
- 3 years of direct credit or loan review experience preferred.
- Ability to always maintain a high degree of ethical standards and complete confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, high level of accountability, and attention to detail.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Bilingual— English/Spanish a plus.
- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
