Job Title: Building Automation Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive checkout and start-up procedures for Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems and Building Control Systems (BCS).
- Commission and configure Building Control Systems, ensuring that all drawings are accurately recorded and updated.
- Implement field changes as required and troubleshoot any equipment or component issues that arise.
- Provide training sessions to both owners and colleagues to ensure a thorough understanding and effective use of the system.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Engineer on field tasks and coordination efforts.
- Participate in panel construction, while maintaining accurate field documentation, including As-Built drawings, check-out sheets, and UL Panel Tags.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and ensure projects remain within budget.
- Contribute to optimizing building performance and enhancing energy efficiency.
- Work with cross-functional teams on innovative automation projects.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Strong knowledge of BAS programming and control systems.
- Proficiency with BAS systems is required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and documentation.
- Associate's degree in Applied Technology or a similar combination of education and practical experience.
- Proven experience in computer programming, especially in BAS-related applications.
- Solid background in building mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with electronics and basic electrical circuits.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for both mechanical and electrical systems.
Skills & Abilities:
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving system issues efficiently.
- Tridium Niagara certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with computer hardware and software relevant to BAS applications.
- In-depth understanding of DDC control theory and practical application.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and training sessions.
- Strong communication skills for conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
