Compensation: $27 to $31.66/hour (Depending on Experience)
Position Summary: This is a full-time position with duties that include being responsible for the extraction and purification of CBD and other botanical extract products from plant biomass according to established procedures. This position is also responsible for collecting samples and recording and keeping track of the product extracted. The Operator II position requires the employee have experience in at least two functional areas within operations, for example, CO2 extraction and winterization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produces quality extracted product according to company procedure and policies
- Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate to appropriate parties.
- Conducts the extraction process in a safe and accurate manner.
- Uses a variety of equipment including but not limited to extraction equipment, scales, evaporation equipment, distillation equipment, and forklift.
- Adheres to all safety requirements throughout the shift and performs daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Utilizes all Personal Protective Equipment as documented.
- Performs regular cleaning and maintenance of production equipment, work surfaces, and tools.
- Accurately and legibly documents all extraction workflow and data to ensure process integrity using cGMP principles with minimal errors.
- Assists in maintaining accurate inventory counts of supplies and materials.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Needed to be successful:
- High School diploma or GED required; Stem degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of production/manufacturing experience with extraction processes preferred.
Specialized Skills and Physical Requirements:
Extraction operators should be knowledgeable about the various extraction methods in the industry such as hydrocarbon and supercritical CO2 extraction. They should also have strong production skills. For instance, they should be able to work quickly while still maintaining a high level of product integrity. Importantly, they must follow all the safety guidelines and procedures when handling hazardous materials. Finally, the extraction operator should be able to work well in a team and independently.
- Ability to stand, crouch, lift, push, and pull items and equipment of varying weight and sizes
- Be highly organized, clean, and efficient.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Basic math skills required
- Computer experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
- Must be 18 years of age
- Pass vision test from a licensed eye doctor or physician.
Work Hours: Hours vary and are dependent on business needs, scheduling 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week. Hours worked per week may vary with the workload. Evening and weekend work is required as needed to satisfy the requirements of the job.
