Road Move Specialist

Vantage Point Solutions, a growing and dynamic telecommunications consulting and engineering firm, is seeking a qualified individual to join our team of professionals. We have an immediate opening for a Road Move Specialist.

Summary/Objective

The Road Move Specialist will ensure legal compliance of all proposed projects by use of their technical knowledge in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, GIS Mapping, and Utility Locating. Road Move Specialists must be detail-oriented and skilled communicators who possess a vast technical knowledge as it relates to the telecommunication industry, using risk analysis and mitigation to bring projects to completion.

Preferred Skills

• Civil Engineering Skills
• Roadway Design & Construction: Experience in designing and managing road projects, including grading, drainage, and pavement design.
• Structural Engineering: Understanding of structural aspects of civil engineering, especially for road infrastructure like bridges and culverts.
• Utility Coordination: Expertise in coordinating with utility companies for road projects, including relocation of utilities.
• Surveying Background
• Land Surveying: Proficiency in land and topographical surveys to assess the terrain, set boundaries, and mark elevations.
• GIS/Mapping Software: Ability to use Geographic Information System (GIS) tools for mapping and analyzing spatial data.
• Legal Descriptions & Plat Maps: Knowledge of creating and interpreting legal descriptions, boundary surveys, and plat maps.
• GIS Mapping for Utilities
• Utility Mapping: Skills in mapping existing utility lines and planning for utility relocations using GIS tools.
• Spatial Data Analysis: Ability to analyze spatial data and identify potential conflicts with proposed roadwork.
• AutoCAD/Civil 3D: Proficiency in CAD software for designing and integrating utility relocations within road design plans.
• Risk Analysis for Utilities
• Risk Identification & Mitigation: Ability to assess risks associated with utility relocations during road construction, including disruptions to service or damage to infrastructure.
• Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to utility work in public rights-of-way.
• Safety Planning: Expertise in planning for worker and public safety during road moves, particularly around live utilities.

• Project Management: Experience in managing road move projects from start to finish, including coordination with multiple stakeholders.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication to liaise with contractors, utility companies, and government agencies.
