Description: Applicants need to have knowledge of medical insurance billing processes, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and attention to detail. Proficiency in Excel and Epic is preferred.
Responsibilities include:
Communicate professionally with referring physician offices and facility personnel including clinicians or physicians as required.
Entering orders entry into a database, scheduling, patient registration, and other clerical duties.
Assisting/facilitating expedient and professional patient care.
Contact insurance companies to verify medical benefits and authorization requirements for services.
Respond to patient and insurance inquiries, and research and resolve unpaid accounts.
Notify the Privacy Officer of any breach in security or leak of PHI or ePHI.
Participate in all compliance and HIPAA training opportunities.
PREREQUISITES:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with database program applications including Windows.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Experience with Epic preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of previous experience with computer applications is required.
- 2 years of previous medical office is preferred.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to meet multiple deadlines consistently.
- Must have a great attendance record.
