What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Service Associate position at Vantage Retirement Plans, LLC?
Do you believe that everyone should have the freedom to invest their retirement savings as they see fit? Do you get frustrated feeling like you’re the only one in your organization that truly focuses on the client and their best interests? Do you dream of working at an organization that cares about more than just the bottom line? At Vantage, we believe Money is Personal. We have a client-first mentality and we strive to add value to our clients’ financial life by providing choices and education about private market investing. We are a team of hard-working individuals that trust each other, authentically care about each other, and have fun together. If that sounds like the kind of environment in which you thrive, keep reading!
In this role, you will use your knowledge of investment and retirement services to make a transformative impact on people’s financial future. You will serve as our clients’ guide to facilitate complex investment transactions, function as their subject-matter expert on their Self-Directed IRA and cultivate an effortless client experience.
How you will make a difference
We are here to help clients to take control of their retirement savings, discover the world of Self-Directed IRAs, and ensure their investment transactions are processed accurately and on time. As a Client Service Associate, you will serve as the face of Vantage and:
- Educate IRA investors about the alternative investment choices available to them (think real estate, private lending, precious metals, and private equity) through our Self-Directed IRA services.
- Guide our clients to provide necessary documentation to ensure a smooth experience as they buy and sell investments.
- Communicate with empathy, friendliness, and a problem-solving mindset to uncover client needs and provide timely and accurate solutions. Most client communication is done over the phone and email, with occasional in-office meetings as well.
What it takes
At its core, this role has one main goal - to create an effortless experience for our clients. The most important qualifications you need are retirement industry knowledge, strong client service experience, a commitment to serve others with excellence, and a thirst for learning and growth. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate:
- A friendly, adaptable, and outgoing disposition that finds joy in serving others.
- 3 years of experience in a client service role in the retirement industry (IRA knowledge is required).
- Strong communication skills with an ability to connect with people, deeply understand their needs, and convince them to take action in a caring and supportive way.
- A desire for longevity and growth with a high-performing team dedicated to service excellence.
- A learner’s mindset, insatiable curiosity, and an appetite to continuously build your business acumen.
- Bonus points if you have knowledge of Self-Directed IRAs and alternative investments or experience with real estate and loan transactions.
Who you are NOT
We get it - this position isn’t for everyone! You probably won’t thrive in this role if you are someone who:
- Doesn’t enjoy being on the phone or socializing with strangers.
- Prefers large chunks of focus time.
- Values independence over collaboration.
- Resists being held accountable to metrics.
- Is uncomfortable working with an upset or impatient client.
- Cares more about efficiency than the client experience.
- Seeks a remote position (hybrid work is available, but this is primarily an in-office position).
- Isn't deeply connected to our quest to make a transformative impact on the financial life of others.
