The Director of FP&A will act as a business partner to our five plants, leading and managing the financial reporting and consolidation functions for Vantedge Medical. This role will provide strategic insights to support decision-making, oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of consolidations, financial statement preparation, financial systems, and financial analysis in a private equity environment. This role is critical for maintaining financial transparency, integrity, and operational efficiency within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies to improve profitability and financial performance
- Drive the preparation of key financial metrics and KPIs for management review, including profitability analysis, working capital management, and cash flow forecasting.
- Create and implement financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and board presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the development and preparation of the company’s budget and forecasts, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Oversee / validate reporting of covenants and financials to company lenders, including preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts, highlighting key variances and working with business units to understand drivers and trends.
- Lead the consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial position and results of operations.
- Communicate business performance and expectations to the executive team, the board of directors, and PE owners.
- Manage the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including consolidating multiple subsidiaries, joint ventures, and intercompany eliminations.
- Lead and manage the finance team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Work closely with IT and finance teams to implement and improve financial reporting systems and processes for greater efficiency.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to the executive team and other business leaders, supporting strategic decision-making.
- Assist in due diligence, acquisition integration, and other financial analysis projects as needed by the private equity stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CFA, or other professional certifications preferred).
- 10 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or finance, ideally with 5 years in a senior management or director role within a private equity-owned or manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with financial consolidations and ERP & reporting systems (Visual, Infor, & OneStream preferred).
- Experience in managing a financial team and working in a cross-functional environment.
- Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of financial reporting, consolidation, and accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, variances, and key business drivers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Previous experience with private equity-backed organizations or contract manufacturing is highly preferred.
