About the Role:
The Secondary Lead is responsible for overseeing and directing daily operations of the Secondary areas. This position will assure that the Secondary department is achieving scheduling, production, and quality levels expected while promoting a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Organizes regular staff meetings and builds an environment in which employees willingly produce maximum work of the highest quality.
- Plan and assign work to subordinates and monitors the progress.
- Ability and willingness to train employees in finishing operations as needed and/or facilitate cross-training or re-training as needed
- Continuous improvement of all manufacturing, support and quality processes.
- Development improvements to production rates, quality, equipment.
- Continuous equipment, production, processes and quality improvements
- Work as a team with all other departments to achieve improved goals of safety, production, and quality.
- Manage employee performance in collaboration with Production Manager and HR.
- Communicate and give directions to employees to accomplish company goals directed by Management.
- Involvement in supervision such as develops and/or communicates policies, procedures, goals and results.
- Proactively solves daily production problems.
- Perform duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Requirements / Skills:

Experience in Secondary (Finishing) processes in a machining environment.

Strong computer skills; including Microsoft Office and MRP Systems.

Working knowledge of ISO Quality Systems.

General knowledge of all areas of manufacturing.

Good organizational skills.

Good communication skills.

Continuous improvement proven accomplishments.

Additional working hours may be needed to assure equipment and production needs are accomplished in a timely manner.

Ability to stand/walk throughout the day for entire shift.

Ability to read English and follow standard operating procedure instructions.

Ability to read and understand blueprints (preferred).

Communicate / train others when needed.

Ability to inspect parts through use of visual and manual inspection equipment (caliper, micrometer etc.).
