About the Role:
The Secondary Operator I is responsible to do a variety of functions in the department including: manually loading and unloading parts into rotating machinery, using basic math skills, and inspecting parts through use of visual and manual inspection equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform finishing activities with the use of grinding tools; sharpen corners or edges, buff down surfaces, polish for brighter finish.
- fine-tune finished piece processing with the use of knives, cutting tools, hand sanders, and other manual equipment.
- Maintain count of machined parts and clean, wash or tumble parts as required.
- Operate a grit / sand blasting machine (we will train)
- Follow all safety guidelines as stated by Vantedge Medical
- Read and understand standard operating procedure instructions (we will train)
Requirements / Skills:
- Cooperative, team-focused attitude
- Ability and willingness to cross-train in a variety of jobs in the Secondary Department.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to manually load/unload parts into rotating machinery
- Basic math skills (to count parts)
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and good manual dexterity in both hands.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand/walk throughout the day for entire shift
- Ability to read English and follow standard operating procedure instructions
- Ability to read and understand blueprints (preferred)
- Communicate / train others when needed
- Ability to inspect parts through use of visual and manual inspection equipment (caliper, micrometer etc.)
Salary : $17 - $19
