Position: Estimator
This position will be based at our Fort Worth, TX location and work is to be performed onsite. The candidate will be responsible for duties which include, but are not limited to:
The Estimator will be responsible for providing quotations for a panel bill of materials, including estimating labor and material costs, communicating financial cost, and timelines to Application Engineers, Sales, and customers. The Estimator will create the official bill of material assemblies using our ERP system. This individual will work with multiple vendors to get the best pricing available for components.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfill requests for quotation in a timely manner
- Assess projects by identifying project requirements regarding time, labor, and material costs
- Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates
- Collaborate with vendors, engineering, and sales during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy
- Act as the final say in the calculation, analysis, and adjustment of estimates
- Present estimates to Sales team in a timely manner
- Recommend cost-reduction options
- Assist Sales team in final project preparation transactions
- Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentation
- Consistently works in accordance with applicable safety guidelines and requirements
- Regular and reliable attendance
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience as an estimator or other sales roles
- Ability to operate independently or with a team
- Good interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- History of building partnerships and fostering collaborative relationships
- Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
- Time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Have an understanding of P & ID (piping and instrumentation) diagrams
- Oracle NetSuite experience preferred but not required
