About The Role

Client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support and lead water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment plant construction projects for municipal and industrial clients in Northern California .

Projects may range from $20M to over $1B and include CM-at-Risk, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build delivery methods.

Essential Functions

Project Planning & Execution

Plan, organize, and staff key field positions or subordinate project managers .

Establish project objectives, policies, and procedures to align with company goals.
Maintain oversight of construction through administrative direction of on-site managers and superintendents to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and key contacts to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.

Represent Client in project meetings and labor negotiations .

Maintain strong relationships with clients while ensuring financial protection of the company's interests.

Financial & Risk Management

Manage the financial aspects of contracts , including fee payments, rental equipment, income / expenses .

Support change management, cost estimating, revenue forecasting, and project scheduling .

Investigate and resolve potentially serious project risks with corrective measures.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure safe work practices are followed across all project activities.

Work in alignment with company health and safety policies .

Technical & Engineering Support

Provide leadership and technical guidance to project engineers, field engineers, and superintendents.

Oversee the procurement of subcontractors and materials .

Support construction administration and documentation .

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management , or a related field (or equivalent education and experience).

8-15 years of experience in heavy civil or industrial construction , with knowledge of design, finance, and project management .

3-5 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment plant projects .

Strong ability to apply innovative management techniques to maximize performance .

Deep understanding of corporate and industry practices, standards, and their impact on project activities .

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills .

Business-oriented mindset with strong judgment and decision-making skills .

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA training and safety-oriented mindset .

Experience in water / wastewater or advanced technology treatment projects .
