Position Summary
Vapor Point is an environmental service provider specializing in Liquid Scrubber Technology and Thermal Vapor Control for the removal of hazardous air pollutants such as VOCs and H2S as driven by safety and environmental regulatory requirements. Your primary responsibility is to aggressively penetrate new customer accounts and expand Vapor Point's services and products in existing accounts within the competitive refinery, petrochemical, and midstream market by utilizing your existing network and initiating new customer development, engagement, and acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
Product Knowledge and Expertise
- Develop a deep understanding of the technical specifications, features, and applications of Vapor Point products and services.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor offerings.
- Transform technical details into persuasive value propositions for our clients.
Sales Support and Consultation
- Collaborate with other members of the sales team, operations, and management to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Initiate and manage pre-sales activities, including lunch and learns, presentations, industry conferences, off-site events, and related solution proposals.
- Focus on in-person dialogue and facility visits.
- Address customer inquiries and provide technical support throughout the sales cycle.
Client Engagement and Relationship Building
- Build strong relationships by demonstrating exceptional customer service and technical expertise.
- Assess and address client needs with customized solutions and ongoing communication.
- Network and identify new business opportunities and ensure client satisfaction to drive repeat business.
- Discuss customer-valued product and service KPIs and post-project lessons learned to retain business.
Opportunity Development and Forecasting
- Utilize Salesforce (CRM) to record customer engagement and opportunity forecasting.
- Engage management and operations to prepare sales quotes, proposals, and contracts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer needs.
- Work closely with other members of the sales team and operations teams to develop pricing strategies and negotiate pricing and terms to close new business and expand existing customer business.
- Provide input on product and services market positioning, competitive value proposition, and market differentiation based on technical and operational excellence and customer feedback.
- Provide feedback to the company on customer account penetration, strategic direction, sales revenue projections, and internal resource support needs.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications
- Must live in the Houston area.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the industrial services sector, with a focus on midstream, refinery, petrochemical, and related services/products.
- Strong technical understanding of industrial equipment and processes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of translating technical information for diverse audiences.
- Must be self-motivated, highly ambitious, and results driven. Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
