Central Processing Center Associate

This position will help drive VTS profitability through donation pickups and sales of bulk goods.

This position is responsible for maintaining inventory levels at the Central Processing Center, working with the VP of US. Profit Centers and Store Managers for proper scheduling, pickup, and sales of bulk transfers and pickups.

3. Ability to clearly communicate with customers of all types via e-mail and phone
4. Provide exceptional customer service to all customers and donors
5. Possess a valid driver’s license
6. Pass a DOT medical exam (paid for by Vapor Thrift Store)
7. Be able to repeatedly lift 50 pounds over a full time shift

Time Requirements:
This position will require 40 hours per week.

Travel Requirements:
Extensive daily local travel is required in a Vapor Thrift Store vehicle (up to one hour radius from stores), in addition to once monthly staff meetings (within 20 mins of the store).

Position duties:
1) Excellent Customer Service

• Greet every customer and treat them with respect, optimism and joy at all times
• Answer any and all questions for customers
• Assist with any customer needs
• Properly thank each customer for their business and donation
• Escalate any customer service needs to Assistant Store Managers or Store Manager as needed
• Share the vision and mission of Vapor Ministries with customers

2) Bulk Processing & Sales

• Transfer all bulk/rag loads from VTS-Greystone & VTS-Vestavia
• Oversee warehouse operations/space at Central Processing Center
• Track bulk inventory and coordinate with VP of U.S. Profit Centers on scheduling of bulk sales
• Schedule truck maintenance with VP of U.S. Profit Centers as needed
• Maintain and ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA requirements
• Inspect and report any maintenance needs of all material handling equipment

3) Donation Pick-ups

• Handle all donation pick-up requests: call donor, schedule pickup, evaluate items, load and transport to appropriate VTS location

4) Opening/Closing

• If scheduled to open or close, perform and complete the opening/closing checklist procedures

5) Housekeeping

• Ensure a properly organized workspace during operating hours
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe working area in the bulk sales/processing areas
• Maintain warehouse excellence at VTS-Westover

Note: Incumbent must be willing to execute other duties as assigned by the VP of U.S. Profit Centers or Store Managers as needed.
