Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide concerns, recommendations, an estimate of time needed for additional repairs in the system.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Follow all GM and Dealership instructions and policies.
- Must have the experience and expertise to diagnose diagnose and repair back to factory specs various components of vehicles including, but not limited to electrical systems, AC systems, modules, brakes and hydraulics and advanced fuel ignition systems.
- Ongoing technical training onsite and off site are required to remain compliant with GM and dealership policies
- Maintain a clean and organized stall
- Ability to lift heavy objects greater than 50lbs.
- Must document all paperwork to be compliant with GM dealership policies
- Be a team player and assist other technicians when needed
- Thoroughly QC all work performed prior to delivery to service guests
- Adhere to company safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous experience at an automotive dealership
- Years of experience vary per position
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with ability to collaborate with others effectively
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid and current non-suspended driver's license.
- Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Highly motivated and positive attitude
- Able to work in an environment where standing at for long periods of time is sometimes required.
- Able to work in an environment where chemicals, odors, dust and inclement weather are sometimes factors.
