General Accountabilities: We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team. Come develop your IT skills AND earn some great experience at Vardata! Vardata customer base reaches across the globe but is focused mostly on Telecommunication service providers in the USA and Canada. Our core business is to help our customers simplify the process of maintaining their existing aging networks and building out their new networks efficiently and economically. We are located in the beautiful Artisan Works building on Blossom Rd, just outside of downtown Rochester. We provide on-the-job training to make you successful. We have had many MCC students start here and move on to achieve great things at companies like EMC, the National Institute of Health, RG&E, and many others. We've also had students stay for multiple years while working towards their bachelor's degree at other universities.
Job Description: This candidate will be responsible for the Inspection and testing of all incoming telecom/networking equipment to help support the on-time delivery of orders to our customers. Candidates will be trained on how to follow existing processes and procedures to complete their testing responsibilities. Equipment manufacturers commonly tested: Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Fujitsu, Alcatel, and more. Types of equipment: IP phones, switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and legacy telecom equipment.
Daily duties: Test inbound equipment using existing processes and procedures - Document testing procedures and implement new processes as needed. Work closely with engineers to develop better and more efficient ways to test. Work with AC and DC-powered equipment. Assist sales team with product selection by researching compatibility and capability of different manufacturers equipment. Duties will also include supporting the company’s internal network infrastructure which includes firewall, switches, AP's, desktops, and printers. Maintain organization and cleanliness of the lab.
