Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive their medications safely and effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience in home care or working with individuals with disabilities. As a Medication Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and providing exceptional care to those in need.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff.
- Assist in the development of individualized care plans based on residents' needs.
- Provide support and care to residents, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Keep up-to-date with medical records and documentation using systems such as Cerner.
- Educate residents and their families about medication management and health-related topics.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential.
- Experience in home care or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical documentation practices.
