What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cutter Apprentice position at Variety Staffing?
The cutter apprentice will shadow the cutter operator with Make Readies throughout the shift and will help troubleshoot during runs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for completing jobs with 100% accurate quantities when packing and sending jobs from the Cutter.
· Ability to thoroughly read and understand job tickets to avoid any errors and proceed with the job once making sure that everything is ready to begin.
· Consistently communicate with team members (helpers) about the job details to ensure that the job is being done correctly.
· Must present any questions/concerns that arise prior to the job starting to the Operator, Manager, or Supervisor on duty.
· Accurately tag every skid, lot, or jobs so they can be sent to the correct destination.
· Capture all costs associated with a job utilizing data collection system.
· Keep an organized work area while working and clean work area prior leaving at the end of the shift.
· May be assigned additional duties as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is preferred.
· 1-3 months of experience working in the Bindery Department as a General Helper or in an equivalent position required.
· Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish or English.
· Good attention to detail.
