What are the responsibilities and job description for the Offset Pressman position at Variety Staffing?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate presses throughout run of job.
- Coordinate with the Pressroom Manager to produce and prioritize jobs, and when necessary, reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates.
- Ensures quality and color consistency and registration throughout run.
- Perform maintenance, fill out logs and daily time sheets.
- Visually inspect images for artefacts (banding, mottling, etc.) and for color shifts during printing. Make adjustments as necessary.
- Properly perform any necessary color calibrations.
- Maintain proper daily care of machinery and following of safety standards.
- Various duties as assigned.
- Heidelberg experience preferred.
- 4 years of printing experience preferred.
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Knowledge of graphic arts and offset printing is very important to this position.
- Working knowledge of offset printing procedures.
- This position also requires a mechanical background, the ability to work independently and good working knowledge of the computer.
