PURPOSE OF JOB: The Dispatcher will be responsible for the routine function Associated with the Security Department Communications Unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.
- Answer the telephone; evaluates and process call, provide; take and relay messages, and/or other calls.
- Operate radio frequencies to communicate with Security Officers and other District Staff.
- Track location of Security Officers and Alarm Specialist Technicians.
- Respond to routine request for information or assistance from Security Officers, the public or other individuals.
- Maintain information for Security Officers, Alarm Specialist Technicians and other District Staff; make notification for Security Officers, Alarm Technician Specialist and other District Staff.
- Prepares and/or generate routine reports, logs, directories, forms and other documents via a computer and or a typewriter. Complete Security Weekly Report and Security Monthly Security Report.
- Agree to adhere to training level prescribed by Management.
- Must be able to work any shift as assigned, with the understanding that Dispatcher has a 24 hour responsibility to maintaining a functioning Dispatcher.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate, two years’ experience in radio communications, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office equipment which includes a computer, printer, typewriter, facsimile machine, copy machine, calculator, telephone, switchboard, radio transmitting equipment, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous dispatching experience in a school setting.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of work year: 12 months 7.5 hours per day/ 5 days per week; 260 work days
