JOB TITLE: DISTRICT THERAPEUTIC CLINICIAN
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF COUNSELING & SOCIAL SERVICES

SALARY RANGE: OT, PT, AND SOCIAL WORKER SALARY SCHEDULE
JOB GOAL
To evaluate, diagnose, and provide direct therapeutic services and support to students identified as needing Special Education to address social, emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health concerns.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree or higher in a mental health related field such as Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or Psychology.
- Current clinical (independent) level licensure from Arizona from the Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Knowledge of State and Federal Special Education Law
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide individual and group therapy in addition to psychotherapy within the school setting through assessments such as social/developmental histories, functional behavioral analyses, and/or behavior intervention plans.
- Develop and deliver Individual Education Plan service goals as well as mental health treatment plans to include goals, objectives, methods, frequency, duration, and accommodations for the regular or specialized classroom setting.
- Consult with administrators, teachers, and other staff in observing and referring students with suspected social/emotional/behavioral/mental health concerns and provide suggestions for accommodations within the classroom setting.
- Administer informal diagnostics and formal standardized evaluation instruments to identify students with social/emotional/behavioral/mental health concerns.
- Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings to provide information, make recommendations, and coordinate service delivery.
- Maintain on-going communications with parents/guardians and case managers including quarterly progress on goals identified within student IEPs.
- Provide information and referrals to parents/guardians of students with social/emotional/behavioral/mental health concerns to help ensure success.
- When appropriate submit documentation for Medicaid reimbursable services when and meet all local, state, and federal related requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments such as threat assessments, suicide assessments, etc., as needed.
- Manage records for referrals received and services provided.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student records.
- Utilize the district approved software to develop and update IEP goals, objectives, services, and present levels.
- Serve as a content expert in the area of social/emotional/behavior/mental health.
- Perform all other duties or serve on district and site-based committees as assigned by an administrator
