Duties
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans and box trucks, to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care of products.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely arrivals at each destination.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures, receipts, and any discrepancies.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during the operation of delivery vehicles.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Experience with forklifts or warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines efficiently.
- Good communication skills for interaction with customers and team members.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
