MEDICAL ASSISTANT
About the Job:
Provide Clinical support for Physicians. Administrative and back-office hands on clinical support utilizing advanced patient care skills and techniques. Will travel to VASC clinics as needed.
Job Duties:
- Prepares patients for each visit by using the practice triage process and vitalizing
- Answering phones, taking comprehensive messages
- Reviewing and updating past medical, surgical and hospital into an EMR system
- Medication refill processing according to practice protocols
- Ability to learn and communicate patient education topics clearly and concisely
- Ability to learn, comprehend and interpret alert lab values and follow practice protocols
- Ability to learn and interpret alert imaging results and follow practice protocols
- Ability to learn and follow billing, payment, and insurance protocols to include processing patient patients due at the time of visit
- Ability to perform injections (subcutaneous, Intramuscular, Intradermal)
- Keeps supplies and equipment at operational levels
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following practice standards
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential (HIPAA).
- Adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- May be required to travel to other clinics as needed
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Valid Texas Drivers license in good standing
- Covered driver on vehicle insurance
- Other duties as assigned
