The Driveaway Van Lead is responsible for managing the employees that transport the vehicles from one location to the other in the van that they are assigned to. Primary goals are to ensure that the requirements of the Driveaway as well as our customer requirements are met.
The Drive Away Van Leads reports to the Yard Manager/Drive Away Manager and / or Group Leader and has direct responsibility to ensure that all rules of the road are complied with.
Position Responsibilities:
- Know, understand and follow Driveaway Processes.
- Know the inspection process and train team on standardized inspections process. i.e. (FVS-00-22_.Standard Inspection Process)
- Know how to use equipment (scanners/computer/etc.)
- Fill out necessary paperwork on a daily basis.
- Understand the Rules of the Road and conduct safety meetings daily.
- Manage a staff of 10 to 14 employees.
- Coordinate breaks to ensure high productivity.
- Follow Management direction on the best route for moving vehicles in a safe manner.
Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Computer training helpful, but not necessary.

Verbal and written communications skills.

Intermediate computer skills.

Have a valid Operators Permit

Experience in vehicle movement field.

Experience with leadership.

Ability to lead and motivate others

- Have natural or corrected eyesight capable of conducting inspections in varying levels of light.
- Have normal range of hearing, or corrected hearing, to be able to respond to normal workplace sounds including approaching vehicles.
This position requires the following physical demands:
- Lifting to 25 lbs.1-3 hrs. Throughout the day
- Standing 6-8 hours/day
- Walking, 6-8 hrs./day
- Reach above shoulder level 1-3 hrs./day.
- Bend, Stoop, Squat, and or twist-Repeatedly throughout day.
