Vascor is offering you the opportunity to join our team where you will become an asset to the service we deliver to our customers every day. 

We are looking for a full-time Rail Loader to assist with loading and unloading rail cars at off-site and factory yards up to 12 rail cars per day.

Position Responsibilities

• Identify vehicles to be loaded, moving them to and into the rail cars and ensuring vehicles are properly parked.
• Set hand brakes on all rail cars.
• Properly install the chocks on vehicles and apply the seal on the rail car doors once doors are shut.
• Identify and report potential day-to-day operational quality issues and potential improvements.

Qualifications

Qualification for Rail Car Loader

• High School Diploma or GED 
• Valid driver’s license
• Working accurately & efficiently on individual assignments or as an active team member
• Excellent attendance and reliability are critical.
• Must be customer focus.
• Must be able to take directions and act accordingly.
• Must be dependable to meet job requirements.

Physical Demands

This position requires the following physical demands:

• Lifting to 25 lbs.1-3 hrs. Throughout the day
• Standing 6-8 hours/day
• Walking, 6-8 hrs./day
• Reach above shoulder level 1-3 hrs./day.
• Bend, Stoop, Squat, and or twist-Repeatedly throughout day.

Environmental

• May be exposed to excessive noise depending on job location and operations in progress.
• Will be working around moving machinery and equipment daily.
• May be exposed to marked changes in temperature and /or humidity.
• May be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, radiation, chemical depending on the work location,
• Potentially walks on uneven ground.
• May be required to drive motorized equipment such as golf cart

On the job the employee must:

• Have natural or corrected eyesight capable of conducting inspections in varying levels of light.
• Have normal range of hearing, or corrected hearing, to be able to respond to normal workplace sounds including approaching vehicles.
