Job Description
Looking to hire a Credentialing Specialist immediately at the Vascular & Vein Institute of the South's Germantown office. Responsible for ensuring providers are credentialed, appointed, and privileged with health plans, hospitals, and patient care facilities. Maintain up-to-date data for each provider in credentialing databases and online systems; ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications. We are seeking a savvy, strong-minded individual with excellent people and administrative skills. Must be dependable, team-oriented, and able to adjust in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Compiles and maintains current and accurate data for all providers.
- Completes provider credentialing and recredentialing applications; monitors applications in processing and follows-up as needed.
- Maintains copies of and tracks current state licenses, DEA certificates, certifications, malpractice coverage and any other required credentialing documents for all providers and completes renewals as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of current health plan and agency requirements for credentialing providers.
- Sets up and maintains provider information in online credentialing databases and systems including CAQH, PECOS, and more.
- Ensures practice addresses are current with health plans, agencies, and other entities.
- Audits health plan directories for current and accurate provider information.
- Reviews patient deductible allowances prior to upcoming procedure.
- Protect organization’s value by keeping confidential information.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of the credentialing process.
- Certification/Licensure: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
- Experience: Two years of relevant credentialing experience.
- Minimum high school diploma.
- Associates in relevant degree preferred.
- Intermediate level Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal) to effectively interface with internal and external team members.
- Ability to analyze data with creativity and innovation in mind.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and manage work accordingly with minimal supervision.
