What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist position at Vascular Surgery Associates?
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Answer all incoming phone calls and route to the appropriate person.
· Schedule any testing or office patients calling in. If the patient is new to the practice mail out new patient paperwork.
· Handle any phone requests such as faxing orders or op notes to physicians’ offices
· Fax all op notes to any doctor who is CC’d on the op note as well as any dialysis center or infusion center that is involved in the patients care.
· Distribute all incoming faxes to the appropriate person.
· Check in all testing, post op and surgical patients.
· Verify each surgical patient’s name and DOB as well as getting contact information for their driver.
· Confirm all testing and RFA/EVLT patient appointments. Make patient aware of location, date and time.
· Prep all testing / Office visit charts using the required check list. This will include making sure all VSA paperwork is up to date, insurance cards and ID are scanned, email address is accurate, PCP and pharmacy are up to date. Verify that the testing orders match what is scheduled in Nextgen.
· Collect any co pays/balances required for testing patients. Collect balance only for RFA/EVLT patients. Document the payments on the copay log and fax to the billing office. If checks/cash complete deposit slip and give to office manager.
· Obtain any referrals or authorizations needed for testing patients.
· Verify that all op notes have the correct name and date of birth. If there are errors create a label with the correct information. Scan all op notes in to EHR.
· If any op notes are missing inform the doctor so that an op note is completed.
· Scan all op notes, fax confirmations and OBL charts into EHR.
· Schedule all post op office visits and testing for all surgical patients.
· Create all labels and wrist bands for upcoming procedures.
· Stuff and label charts for upcoming procedures.
· Distribute daily schedules to the nursing staff, anesthesia, OR techs and doctor.
· Other duties as assigned.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
