Job Description: Medical Assistant
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Open workstation and clinical area
DRESS CODE: Scrubs, preferably Navy Blue
COMPUTER SOFTWARE: Health Management System (HMS), Microsoft Office
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have Medical Assistant Certification
CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct patient care services of a medical nature in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Perform phlebotomy and administer IM (intramuscular) and subcutaneous injections
- Administer and accurately record blood pressure readings
- Conduct patient interviews to obtain a complete medical history
- Maintain and keep accurate patient records
- Distribute prescribed medications to patients under appropriate supervision
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with patients and healthcare team
Required / Desired Skills:
- Ability to speak and understand English and communicate effectively (Required)
- Experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting (Required, 1 Year)
- Completion and certification from an accredited medical assistant program (Required, 1 Year)
- Skilled in taking and accurately reading blood pressure (Required, 1 Year)
- Experience distributing prescribed medications to patients (Required, 1 Year)
- Experience interviewing patients to obtain complete medical histories (Required, 1 Year)
- Experience in phlebotomy and administering IM and subcutaneous injections (Required, 1 Year)
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $17.90 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
