Must-Haves:
- MSHA & OSHA Certifications – Strong experience with MSHA (Mining Safety and Health Administration) and OSHA compliance, particularly in underground construction, ready-mix plants, and mining environments.
- DOT Compliance Experience – Must have experience with DOT regulations to ensure safety compliance for a fleet-heavy operation with significant transportation risks.
- Construction Safety Leadership – 3-5 years minimum in a senior safety leadership role within construction, mining, or industrial environments. Must be capable of rewriting and implementing safety policies at a corporate level.
- Claims & Risk Management – Experience handling workers' compensation, auto liability, and large claims, including authority to close claims, work with attorneys, and participate in depositions.
- California-based only; no relocation assistance.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Union Experience – Familiarity with union environments (3 unions in Stockton, 4 unions in Chico) to effectively manage compliance and safety regulations across multiple workforces.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Given the workforce diversity, bilingual skills would be beneficial for communication and training.
- Experience with Civil Engineering & Mining – A background in civil engineering, underground construction, mining, or asphalt plant operations would be a strong advantage.
- Safety Program Development – Experience building or enhancing Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs or Safety Management Systems (SMS) would be a plus.
