Position Overview
Our quality control managers have overall quality responsibility for assigned projects and are responsible for quality and commissioning direction through subordinate QA/QC assistant managers and QA/QC inspectors. This position supervises the work of others including assistant quality control managers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists in creating company standards for quality and commissioning procedures, including written programs and procedures.
- Assists in developing quality control and commissioning programs.
- Supervises activities of QA/QC personnel on assigned projects.
- Assists in training/orientation of employees.
- Assists in the employment process.
- Assists in scheduling functions as required.
- Assists in personnel assignments.
- Trains assistant superintendents in some QA/QC facets.
- Manages QA/QC and commissioning protocols on assigned projects.
- Manages building envelope commissioning processes.
- Develops and trains QA/QC workforce.
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Performs other duties and services to ensure projects are delivered successfully and client is satisfied.
- Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.
Education and Training
- Four-year degree in construction, engineering or related field.
- Minimum 15 years construction experience with 10 years in field as a builder on large, complex projects.
- Experience with healthcare, higher education, and/or laboratory projects with a commercial general contractor preferred.
- Must be a qualified commissioning process provider.
- Extensive experience in the management of large construction projects with significant self-performance.
- Extensive knowledge of means and methods - significant emphasis on MEP work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
- Knowledge of financial operations, marketing, estimating, and employee relations.
