FY 24-25 ELEMENTARY TEACHER - DANCE & THEATER

DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Director of Elementary Instruction, and in cooperation with site administrator(s), the Itinerant Theater/Dance Teacher will be responsible for implementing a well-planned and developmentally appropriate theater program according to the California Visual and Performing Arts Framework. The teacher will integrate the use of high-quality theater/dance education into the 2-5 curriculum. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Must possess a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts, English, Music, Dance, Theatre Education or Liberal Studies. A California credential or credential combination authorizing K-12 teaching service in the area of dance or theater. Must hold an English Learner authorization (CLAD, BCLAD, SB 1969 or other appropriate authorization). Must possess an appropriate, valid California driver's license and auto liability insurance. Must be submitted upon offer of employment and maintained throughout employment in this position. Personal transportation for travel to locations where school business requires attendance. Experience creating a well-planned and developmentally appropriate theater program. Must be able to communicate with administrators, faculty, and parents, and implement the Visual and Performing Arts Framework to align, extend and integrate into the school arts program. Knowledge of instructional strategies for a balanced and comprehensive theater program. The ability to select text and material for classroom use, analyze program effectiveness, and incorporate technology in the theater/dance curriculum. Ability to analyze and interpret curricular components, communicate effectively in verbal and written form, work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups, maintain appropriate records, work in a team environment, and meet established deadlines for completion of projects.

Salary : $67,704 - $115,829
