FY 24-25 HIGH SCHOOL DANCE TEACHER

DESCRIPTION Passionate and experienced dance teacher sought to spearhead the development of a comprehensive multi-level dance curriculum at our high school. This full-time role encompasses foundational to advanced classes. The ideal candidate will possess expertise across diverse dance styles, a talent for engaging and motivating students in grades 9 - 12, and exceptional teaching abilities. The entry-level course will introduce students to various dance genres, while intermediate and advanced courses will progressively enhance technical proficiency and explore advanced concepts and choreography across different dance styles. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED A bachelor's degree in dance, performing arts, education, or a related field is preferred. Experience teaching dance at the middle and/or high school levels, with a proven track record of student success and achievement. A California credential or credential combination authorizing K-12 teaching service in the area of dance. Must hold an English Learner authorization (CLAD, BCLAD, SB 1969 or other appropriate authorization). Experience creating a well-planned and developmentally appropriate dance program. Knowledge of instructional strategies for a balanced and comprehensive dance program. The ability to select text and material for classroom use, analyze program effectiveness, and incorporate technology in the dance curriculum. Ability to analyze and interpret curricular components, communicate effectively in verbal and written form, work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups, maintain appropriate records, work in a team environment, and meet established deadlines for completion of projects.

Salary : $67,704 - $115,829
