The Opportunity
The Patient Recruiter Specialist is vital to Vayu Health's patient engagement strategy. This role focuses on identifying, recruiting, and onboarding patients for our virtual healthcare services. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, passionate about improving healthcare access, and adept at building trust with underserved communities while demonstrating cultural humility.
Core Responsibilities

Marketing: Assist in increasing awareness of our program with our clinic partners, communities, etc.

Screening & Eligibility Assessment: Pre-screen patients and perform initial assessments. Validate member eligibility and authorization for service enrollment. Review and confirm health plan Medi-Cal coverage.

Patient Outreach: Conduct outreach via calls, emails, and digital channels. Will work with Vayu local community health workers to help (ie If outreach needs to be in-person).

Patient Enrollment: Assist with enrollment and obtain consents to meet our monthly goal. Explain services, benefits, address inquiries, and support patients in friendly and easy to understand language and utilize different communication methods (visuals, translation services, bilingual, etc) to bridge any literacy gaps. Will work with Vayu local community health workers to help (ie If enrollment needs to be in-person)

Complete monthly member-health plan compliance needs (ie eligibility checks, re-authorization, etc) and help with quality assurance activities.

Collaboration & Coordination: Work with clinical and outreach teams to coordinate recruitment strategies. Assist in seamless flow of member information with their care team as needed. Assist with appointment scheduling.

Data Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on outreach and enrollment for Vayu and partnering healthplans

Compliance & Confidentiality: Adhere to HIPAA and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in patient recruitment or healthcare outreach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cultural competence.

Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with EMR and patient recruitment platforms.

Excellent organizational skills, project management skills, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail.

Experience with digital marketing and outreach tools is a plus.

Ability to navigate multiple data and records systems

Familiarity with telehealth services and healthcare terminology.

Knowledge of the California healthcare system and the FQHC model.

Experience working with underserved populations.

Vayu Health offers a competitive total compensation package that includes:
- Base salary range: $60,000 - $80,000
