Sr Java developer with banking in Iselin, NJ
Seeking a talented and passionate Sr Java Developer to join our growing team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical components of our core banking systems. You'll be working in a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating with other developers, architects, and business analysts to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test Java-based applications and services for core banking functions (e.g., account management, payments, lending).
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
Contribute to the improvement of our development processes and tools.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews).
Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Maintain and enhance existing banking applications.
Work with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) to develop and optimize data access layers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
3 years of experience in Java development.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate.
Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server).
Experience with RESTful web services.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with core banking systems or financial applications.
Experience with message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito).
