Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (with SQL Server Experience)
Location: Jacksonville FL ( need locals or nearby only )

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator with a primary focus on Oracle databases and secondary responsibilities managing Microsoft SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, security, and availability of our Oracle database systems (approximately 70% of the role) while also providing essential support and administration for our SQL Server instances (approximately 30% of the role). This role involves installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, tuning, backup/recovery, security management, and troubleshooting across both platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Oracle Database Administration (Primary Focus - Approx. 70%):
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle database software (Standalone, RAC) and related products (e.g., Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Enterprise Manager).
Perform database monitoring, performance tuning (SQL tuning, instance tuning), and optimization to ensure high levels of availability and efficiency.
Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and other tools. Conduct regular backup testing and disaster recovery drills.
Manage database security, including user access control, privileges, roles, auditing, and data encryption.
Implement and support high-availability solutions like Oracle RAC and Data Guard.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems.
Perform capacity planning and resource management for Oracle environments.
Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts, shell scripts, and automation for database tasks.
Provide technical support and guidance to development teams on database design, SQL queries, and best practices.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
SQL Server Database Administration (Secondary Focus - Approx. 30%):
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Microsoft SQL Server instances.
Monitor SQL Server health, performance, and resource utilization. Perform basic performance tuning and optimization.
Implement and manage SQL Server backup and recovery procedures.
Manage SQL Server security, including logins, users, roles, and permissions.
Support SQL Server high-availability features (e.g., Always On Availability Groups, Clustering) as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve SQL Server connectivity, performance, and operational issues.
Assist with T-SQL script review and basic query optimization.
Maintain documentation for SQL Server environments and procedures.
