Job Description Summary
Are you passionate about advancing education and excellence in abdominal transplantation? We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Education Resource Specialist to drive innovation in transplant education. This role supports the development of educational programs for the Abdominal Transplant Unit and helps shape the future of kidney transplant care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver educational modules and training for the abdominal transplant program, covering outpatient, transplant ICU, and acute care settings.
- Lead orientation programs, ongoing staff education, and advanced training for clinical staff and transplant coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with OPTN and CSM guidelines in educational materials and clinical practices.
- Collaborate with the SICU and outpatient teams to provide cohesive education and support.
- Participate in a 3-day comprehensive classroom training program.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s degree in nursing (education preferred).
- Certification as a Transplant Coordinator is a plus.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active RN Texas License or active multi-state compact RN license (clear of stipulations or disciplinary actions).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
- 3 years of experience as a Kidney Transplant Coordinator (non-negotiable).
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Proven educational experience, especially in clinical settings, is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with Epic, OPTN, and CSM guidelines is important.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with some flexibility).
Must-Haves:
- Active RN Texas License or multi-state compact RN license.
- Master’s degree, BLS certification, and 5 years of acute care experience.
- 3 years of Kidney Transplant Coordinator experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- A detailed and consistent work history.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Certification as a Transplant Coordinator.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Epic and regulatory guidelines.
- Honesty about role preferences (unit, shift, location).
