Job Title: Controls Engineer - Lead

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Controls Engineer to join our team at a state-of-the-art facility that manufactures haircare products including shampoos, gels, conditioners, and more. This position will be responsible for overseeing the controls engineering team at our 750,000 sq. ft. facility, with a focus on both special projects and day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience as a controls engineer
- Hands on experience with Rockwell / Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems – must be able to troubleshoot, program from scratch, etc. Experience implementing new controls systems is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
- Expertise in PLC programming (Allen Bradley).
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems and designing HMIs
- Chemical or consumer product industry experience
- Experience in Industry 4.0 integration and data analytics for business decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the control systems engineering efforts at the facility, acting as the primary subject matter expert.
- Manage and execute special projects (60% of role), improving controls systems and plant efficiency.
- Provide troubleshooting, firefighting support, and day-to-day repair work (40% of role), addressing immediate needs and minimizing downtime.
- Lead the transition to Allen Bradley controls systems, standardizing their use across the plant and eliminating legacy systems (currently using Siemens and AB).
- Support the plant’s move toward Industry 4.0, ensuring that systems communicate seamlessly with each other and contribute to data collection for improved business decision-making.
