What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Veterinary Assistant position at VCA Animal Hospitals?
VCA Hood View Animal Hospital is looking to add an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to our team.
Schedule: Part-time opportunity, 3 days a week.
Compensation: The pay range for this position is $19 – 23 / hour. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
Location: 16317 SE 82nd Dr, Clackamas, OR 97015
As a member of the VCA Hood View team, you will support the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:
- Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
- Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
- Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals.
- Maintaining medical records.
- Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
- Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.
Who We Are:
We are a 4 DVM, AAHA-accredited, small animal practice, just to the south of Portland. We see cats and dogs, six days a week, for preventative care, dentistry, and surgeries. We pride ourselves on making a personal connection with every client and pet and that we make work-life balance a reality in veterinary medicine.
