VCA Edgewood Animal Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced veterinarian to join our team as Medical Director. This is a unique opportunity for a strong leader who is ready to take the next step in their veterinary career and guide a dedicated team of three full-time DVMs in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Position Summary:
As Medical Director, you will partner with the Hospital Manager to lead the medical team and ensure the delivery of outstanding patient care and client service. You will be responsible for driving medical quality, fostering a positive and engaging hospital culture, and mentoring and developing our team of DVMs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical leadership and guidance to associate veterinarians
- Maintain and promote high standards of medical care
- Lead by example through high-quality medicine and client communication
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on operational goals and staff development
- Mentor and support DVMs in professional growth and continuing education
- Maintain AAHA standards and support hospital accreditation goals
Requirements:
- DVM or equivalent degree
- Licensure in good standing in Iowa
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in clinical practice
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to excellence in patient care and client service
