Job Description
A dedicated leader in veterinary medicine is sought to excel as Hospital Director at Veterinary Referral Emergency Center of Westbury, New York.
The ideal candidate will oversee the business aspects of hospital operations and maintain a high standard of medical care within a large veterinary facility featuring specialty and emergency services. The Director will collaborate with the leadership team, Intern Director, and Medical Director to achieve goals and foster an exceptional service culture and work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accountability for hospital profit & loss statements
- Driving a collaborative and positive culture and work environment
- Focusing on exceeding client expectations
- Oversight of leaders/supervisors, intern director, and medical director supporting approximately 90 associates, including doctors, technicians, veterinary assistants, and paraprofessional staff
- Developing and growing future leaders
- Oversight and development of onboarding, training, and continuity programs
- Cultivating relationships within the veterinary community
- Supporting the recruitment of medical professionals
Requirements:
- Prior experience in specialty/emergency veterinary management is desirable
- Strong leadership skills to develop a cohesive team and proven success in engaging with veterinary professionals
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Prior leadership in a specialty hospital or multi-site operational business is highly preferred
- Proven experience building high-performing teams
- Ability to multitask and handle high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities
- Experienced record of generating revenue growth and ability to balance short-term needs and priorities while planning for the future
Work Environment:
- Flexibility in schedule and hours of availability

- Periodic travel required
