VCA All Pets Animal Hospital of Salinas is searching for ax experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
We are a busy four-doctor practice providing general practice care as well as urgent care and emergency services. We also offer full service grooming and boarding as well!
A successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care — with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
In this position you will be supporting our full-time and relief Doctors and Veterinary Technicians by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include - but are not limited to:
- Maintaining medical records.
- Greeting and rooming clients and obtaining medical histories.
- Obtaining vital signs on and triaging patients.
- Preparing the surgical suite and surgical patients.
- Filling prescriptions.
- Performing treatments on inpatient and outpatient pets.
- Laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
- Composing treatment plans based upon Doctor recommendations for presentations to clients
- Providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets.
- Answering client questions.
- Discharging patients.
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness with cleaning duties.
- Obtaining payment for rendered services.
- Utilizing our Care Club and Home Delivery programs to provide clients with a pace of mind and ease of care.
- Maintaining hospital instrumentation and machinery.

Compensation Range: $20.00/hour - $24.00/hour
