What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician, Supervisor position at VCA Animal Hospitals?
VCA Olympiad Animal Hospital in Mission Viejo is seeking a full-time, experienced Registered Veterinary Technician Supervisor to add to our amazing team! We are an established primary care practice located just next to beautiful Lake Mission Viejo that offers wellness and sick appointments, general dentistry, and surgery. Our practice is open Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sundays.
Compensation : $ 27 - $ 32 / hr
Schedule : Days Monday - Friday and Saturdays as needed
The ideal candidate will be friendly and courteous while possessing the following technical, leadership, and customer service skills:
Obtaining medical histories
Reviewing treatment plans and cost estimates
Subcutaneous, intravenous, and intramuscular injections
Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Anesthesia induction and monitoring
Surgical assistance and pack prep
Post-op monitoring
Dental radiography, scaling, polishing, extractions
Filling Prescriptions
Radiographic Positioning
Nail trims, anal gland expressions, wound care
Controlled substance management
Inventory management
Medical equipment maintenance and management
Training and Supervising RVTs and Veterinary Assistants
Staff scheduling
