Projects include wood, steel and concrete construction with an emphasis in new, ground-up construction.
The Structural Project Engineer Overview :
You’ll utilize your structural engineering expertise and track record of productivity to perform a variety of design tasks in collaboration with a design team. While developing creative solutions to project challenges, you’ll demonstrate your proficiency in the use of state of the art design and documentation tools to complete engineering tasks. As the successful candidate, you’ll possess organizational and time-management skills necessary to prioritize responsibilities as needed. You’ll continually increase your technical knowledge through company training sessions and interaction with experts who have decades of experience with wood, concrete, steel, and masonry design. You’ll receive personalized mentoring to help you achieve your desired professional development objectives.

Internal Visibility : This position reports directly to a Project Manager of the firm and routinely works and interacts with Project Engineers, Design Engineers, CAD / BIM Technicians, Structural Observers, as well as other individuals to maintain a collaborative working environment.
Your Primary Directive
The Structural Project Engineer position is responsible for the preparation of construction documents and supporting calculations for various product types, including high-density multi-story residential mixed-use apartments (podium & wrap type), detached single-family homes, senior / affordable housing, commercial, hospitality, and parking structures. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment and initially work in a supporting role, utilizing cutting-edge technology to create industry-leading construction documents that are well-coordinated and cost-efficient. As the candidate progresses, they will transition into a more senior role and be capable of attending project meetings, collaborating and coordinating with architects, developers, contractors, and other supporting design professionals to develop design solutions that ensure efficient project construction.
The role involves supervising and overseeing the work of Design Engineers I & II, ensuring quality and timely completion of tasks. The Project Engineer will assist the Project Manager in managing client expectations and fostering strong, ongoing client relationships. The role also includes preparing and delivering complete work packages / products, ensuring all requirements are met and the final deliverables align with project specifications.
The Experience you’ll bring :
- 4-8 years of combined structural design experience in wood, single-and multi-family / multi-story dwellings, podiums, wraps, and concrete parking structures.
