Network/Phone/Cable Technician

Position Summary

VCI is a full service voice, data and video company offering voice services, high speed internet Networks, CCTV, Satellite TV for SMB and enterprise customers nationwide in business for 20 years. We are expanding and currently looking for Cabling/ Network or Phone technician who is well versed in installing and programming switches, routers, access points, CCTV, infrastructure cabling and PBX's and willing to travel locally In NJ/MD/DE/PA areas

Job Responsibility

• Installing Network Routers, switches, access points as well as infrastructure cabling
• Configuration of IP addresses on all network devices
• Terminate cat6 cables to Patch panels and 66/110 blocks
• Basic knowledge of PBX, phone systems
• Interact with customers on an ongoing basis related to project implementation and execution of the service tickets
• Ability to remotely diagnose and resolve customer issues related to Add/move/changes on Networks as well as Network related issues with help of engineers.
• Plan installations by studying floor plans, programming guides & technical specifications as well as ability to read diagrams.
• Update job Knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading manuals and certifications

Key Competencies:

• 4 years IP Networking/cabling/telecom experience in a customer facing environment.
• 4 years Networking experience preferable
• Knowledge of Phone systems, 66/110 blocks, Mitel PBX are a plus!
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to assume responsibility and ownership for work performed.
• Ability to provide technical support for co-workers, customers, and other vendors.
• Proficiency with MS Windows/Office and/or Active Directory/Share point
