General Summary:
The BIM Modeler I must be familiar with Revit software to support various job site personnel, including the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) Representative, Electrical Designers, Engineers, and Project Supervision. Responsibilities include preparing 2D and 3D detail drawings and models, ensuring all necessary views and dimensions are available for installation on-site. The role also involves maintaining records of changes and making simple decisions while referring complex issues to Electrical Designers, Engineers, or Supervisors. The BIM Modeler I reports to the BIM Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Use computer-assisted design/drafting software to develop project documentation, models, and drawings.
- Provide Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) coordination and electrical modeling activities in an Autodesk-based software environment.
- Create and revise project drawings (fabrication and construction).
- Apply knowledge of construction and engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and physical sciences to complete models and drawings.
- Create detailed multi-view drawings for assigned projects.
- Convert 2D drawings into 3D models.
- Develop 3D models from sketches and proposals.
- Serve as a liaison with clients and other contractors regarding drawings and models.
- Attend coordination meetings.
- Occasionally assist with presentations for visualization or animation activities.
- Communicate with Fabrication, Design, Engineering, and Construction supervision regarding new and revised prints.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- License: None required.
- Education: Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the electrical construction industry, with knowledge of electrical symbols and drafting conventions preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with modeling authoring software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD), coordination software (e.g., Navisworks), and design collaboration software (e.g., BIM Collaborate Pro) preferred.
- Ability to take verbal and written direction and translate it into working constructability documents.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapting to changing priorities as needed.
- Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and construction plans.
- Strong attention to detail, including proofreading and spell-checking work independently.
- Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the BIM team via digital platforms or hard copy.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $103,322.00 per year
