General Summary:
The Estimator is responsible for all aspects of electrical estimating for the Division office, including but not limited to analyzing blueprints, writing proposals, consulting with clients, preparing cost and expenditure statements, and assisting in creating budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of electrical estimating, including composing BOMs, performing takeoffs, inputting takeoff data, submitting RFIs, and writing proposals.
- Assist the senior estimator in coordinating and streamlining the bid process for each project.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Assess cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Prepare estimates for selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Review material and labor requirements to determine whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals throughout the project.
- Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Establish and maintain the tendering process and conduct negotiations.
- Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to implement cost reductions.
- Review estimates with the division manager and project managers once a contract is awarded.
- Assist in creating budgets and schedules of values once the project is awarded.
Position Requirements:
- License: Valid state driver's license as required by job conditions or the company.
- Certification: Post-Secondary Certificate Preferred.
- Education: High School Graduate or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience preferred in industrial or commercial construction.

Pay: $67,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year
