Forklift - Night Shift

Essential Functions

These duties are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job:

• Visually inspect the forklift for leaks, damaged forks, excessive wear in steering, lift chains, tires, and proper operation of brakes.
• Check fluid levels and refill as needed.
• Follow proper refueling procedures to safely fuel the forklift.
• Rotate to different positions for cross-training or to support production as needed.
• Assist co-workers or maintenance personnel with basic maintenance procedures.

Non-Essential Functions

These duties are secondary and not classified as ADA essential:

• Perform additional tasks assigned by the supervisor related to production and cleaning.

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to use vision and hearing continuously, with peripheral vision to be aware of forklifts and co-workers.
• Reading and speech required to understand job hazard analysis, machine-specific lockout procedures, and monthly safety training.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative in completing tasks efficiently.
• Strong prioritization, organization, and decision-making skills.

Safety Requirements

• Only perform maintenance tasks for which training has been provided; avoid placing body parts in machinery.
• Always follow the 14-step lockout/tagout procedure before maintenance, clearing jams, or entering machinery; be aware of stored energy.
• Use proper body mechanics (e.g., avoid overreaching, seek assistance for heavy loads).
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, eye protection, hearing protection).
• Maintain awareness of and communicate with co-workers, especially forklift drivers.
• Read and write as needed for safety training.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,609.00 - $54,475.00 per year
