Essential Job Statements
Responsible for the fiscal management and strategic development of the VCUHS Trauma Network including operations and contracting. Oversees budget/fiscal administration.
Oversees and manages financial operations to include business analytics; financial planning, management, and reporting; revenue enhancement; cost reduction initiatives; budget; procurement; facilities management; and information technology coordination and implementation.
Participates in managed care contract negotiations and contract compliance for the Trauma Center and for the trauma network.
Assists with the planning and implementation of trauma network projects by monitoring scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
Assists with the development and deployment of Trauma Center/Trauma Network strategic planning and integration of services with input from Hospital administration, physicians, and other stakeholders.
Identifies and monitors metrics and milestones to evaluate progress on strategic initiatives as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of services.
Guides and directs the development and implementation of a continuous quality improvement plan that supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the Trauma Center and Trauma Network
Develops business and operational plans for expansion of service. Identifies and implements program activities and staffing needs for service expansion.
Identifies and implements benchmarks and best practices for the Trauma Center/Trauma Network.
Develops business and operational plans for the Trauma Center/Network. Implements program activities and staffing needs.
Identifies and implements benchmarks and best practices in conjunction with the Trauma Network Medical Director and Trauma Program Managers.
Facilitate the trauma network steering and operational committees and coordinates membership/participation requests.
Represents the Trauma Center/Network and develops relationships with external entities and organizations to include professional organizations, referring providers, patients, and caregivers, etc.
Collaborates with physician leaders to develop programs/services to support the vision and strategic direction.
Elicits and incorporates input from all internal and external stakeholders in planning services.
Collaborates with all levels of regional leadership and the community.
Coordinates the Annual Report
Collaborates to ensure websites, marketing and public relations are maintained to promote the trauma network across the region.

Employment Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or other job-related field from an accredited program to include coursework in operations management, financial management and cost accounting.
Preferred Education:
Master’s degree in healthcare administration; Business Administration; Finance or closely related field from an accredited program

Licensure/Certification Preferred:
Certifications and/or registrations in functional area

Minimum of five (5) years of experience with spreadsheets, databases, and report-writing software Experience in data/information analysis.
May require working early/late hours or weekends
