VCU Health - Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA
This position will work at the VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital Family Care Center - South Hill, VA
Chief Purpose of this position: This position will work at the Community Memorial Health Family Medicine Residency Clinic in South Hill, VA serving as a pediatric primary care physician.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical: Physician will provide clinical service to include: being available to the emergency department and inpatients; newborn nursery coverage, including being present for c-sections; see patients in the ambulatory clinic setting; maintain clinical competency in Family Medicine and Newborn care and share on call coverage with team.
Precepting: Physician will provide precepting and mentorship to medical students, residents and fellows when applicable. Physician will provide education to ancillary staff as needed.
Service: Physician will serve on hospital or departmental committees when appropriate, and engage in professional activities through journal review, conference presentations and national organization committee work. Participate in activities, which demonstrate professional commitment to position and to VCU Health Systems.
Administrative: Perform administrative duties as are appropriate and necessary to support operations of the VCU Health Systems including but not limited to completing patient medical records, student evaluations and other required documentation.

Required Qualifications
- Eligible to obtain license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Completion of an accredited residency program in Pediatrics or Med/Peds
- Board Certified and recertified if applicable by the American Board of Pediatrics
- Experience in providing direct patient care to underserved populations across multiple settings
- Willing and able to care for patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and newborn nursery
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
- Experience in providing direct patient care in the ambulatory clinic setting and newborn nursery
