The VCU Department of PM&R is seeking a full-time clinical rehabilitation or health psychologist.
The PM&R Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology Outpatient Program provides assessment and counseling services for individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions, including TBI, stroke, SCI, and movement disorders. VCU Health is the regions only Level 1 trauma center and has consistently been rated as the best hospital in the Richmond metro area.
The successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD) in a related field of psychology (e.g., health, clinical, counseling), a psychology license or license-eligible in the state of Virginia, and have specific training/expertise in health or rehabilitation psychology and evidence-based treatments for chronic medical conditions and/or chronic pain. Completion of a 1-year postdoctoral fellowship in health or rehabilitation psychology, or equivalency in experience, is preferred. The clinical focus in on patients who are referred by PM&R and neurology for treatment of a variety of conditions with comorbid pain, including but not limited to TBI, SCI, stroke, MS, epilepsy, movement disorders, and other pain disorders.
Must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
