Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a candidate whose scope of practice will include ambulatory care practice, providing inpatient consultation services, performing endoscopy and serving as the attending physician on the digestive health inpatient service. You will also participate in the rotation of clinical faculty to provide consultative services in hepatology and emergency endoscopy.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical - Provide clinical services in the gastroenterology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in gastroenterology outreach locations; participate in the inpatient management of patients with GI conditions, participate in attending on the Digestive Health Service at VCUHS; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
Teaching – Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
Required Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology; must be facile with diagnostic endoscopy.
- Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
